DePASQUALE'S SALON & SPA – MORRIS PLAINS, NEW JERSEY

An elliptical decompression chamber initiates the promenade and leads the visitor along a serpentine wall the four different programmatic piazza dedicated to the nourishment of the face, skin, hair and the bod. A large sky-lit oculus above manipulates and delicately filters both natural and artificial light. The focal episode creates a hovering disc of light within a deep and otherwise dark space thus creating a connection to the sky. The sound of an open rainwater shower soothes the soul while delicate eddy currents waft sensuous aromas. Empirical architecture as primal experience.
